Situation Analysis


The strategic growth plan of People’s Bank of California included the offsite deployment of ATMs. Finding the right sites while controlling costs created many challenges in the initial stages. The specific cost issues involved the ATM hardware, communications and servicing. However the bank wanted to reconstruct their deployment program to compete in the profitable offsite ATM placement in Los Angeles.

Solution


FTSI conducted an analysis of People’s Bank of California’s previous offsite ATM deployment. After review of the offsite program, bank executives decided to redeploy these ATMs into branches. This allowed the ATMs to be hooked into their existing network with no additional cost impact on communications. It also enhanced the service level by offering a full service alternative to their customers during peak branch periods.

Next, FTSI presented upper level management with the Triton product, an offsite cost measuring tool and a dynamic marketing option. First the Triton ATM yielded a reliable product with savings from both the hardware and dial-up technology. Then an interactive Pro forma was given that allowed the bank to analyze pre-site performance. The final step was increased visibility and a revenue-generating advertising program.
